Lisa Haney

Executive Director of Planning and Natural Resources

Lisa Haney is a leader in strategic planning and innovative regional solutions who oversees the Planning and Watershed Management Department and the Natural Resources Department at the Orange County Water District. Under Lisa’s oversight, these departments prepare the District’s environmental documents, resource agency permit applications, Groundwater Management Plan, Long-Term Facilities Plan, and conduct the District’s natural resource management, watershed planning, and recharge planning.

Lisa has more than 25 years of experience in public utilities and regulatory policy and compliance. Prior to joining the District, she worked for Irvine Ranch Water District, Orange County Sanitation District and Los Angeles County Sanitation District. Passionate about education and outreach, Lisa advocates for and fosters the next generation of water professionals, mentoring future leaders and sharing her unique perspective on integrated water management frameworks.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in marine science from the University of Charleston, South Carolina.
