Prado wetlands group tour
OCWD owns 2,150 acres behind Prado Dam in Corona where it operates the Prado Wetlands, the largest constructed wetlands on the west coast of the United States. Half of the Santa Ana River flow is routed through a specially constructed wetland area consisting of 45 shallow natural ponds. By putting river water through the natural wetlands, OCWD created a natural process for purifying the water for future percolation into the groundwater basin, while simultaneously creating habitat for critically endangered species.
Tours are scheduled upon staff availability, Monday-Friday.
Group size: 10 to 20 guests.
