Santiago Basin Intertie Repair Project, Contract Number SC-2019-1
The Orange County Water District is currently accepting bids for the Santiago Basin Intertie Repair Project, Contract Number SC-2019-1.
A non-mandatory prebid meeting will be held January 5, 2021 at 10 a.m. at OCWD’s Santiago Basin facility. The site is located inside the gate at the corner of Collins Ave. and N Prospect Street, Orange, Calif. The number of people attending the onsite job walk is limited to one person per potentially bidding contractor. Masks must be worn at all times while also maintaining social distancing.
Bid opening will occur Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. Bids are due at the District office before 2 p.m. on January 19, 2021. Bids delivered in person must be dropped off at the OCWD guard shack located at 18700 Ward Street, Fountain Valley prior to the deadline. Members of the public will not be allowed to enter the OCWD campus but can participate in the bid opening via a Zoom web meeting.

Brief project description
The work includes but is not limited to the following: The Santiago Creek Recharge Facility includes Blue Diamond Basin (north) and Bond Basin (south). The existing intertie that connects the two basins forms a saddle that has been subject to scour and numerous slope failures and requires rehabilitation. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to complete construction of the Santiago Basin Intertie Repair Project per the plans and specifications, including: prepare and implement SWPPP; perform preconstruction survey, construction staking, and postconstruction survey; clearing and grubbing to remove existing vegetation that interferes with the work; cutting slopes and keys; excavation to invert and over excavation for bottom of precast box culvert; unloading, staging, and installation of District-furnished 536 foot-long, 12-foot inner dimension precast box culvert (44,000 pounds per section); earthwork to place, bench and compact slope buttress fill; and construction of a rip-rap lined transition spillways leading into Blue Diamond and Bond Basin.
