Prado Basin sediment management demonstration project excavation and dredging, contract number PB-2020-1
The work includes but is not limited to the following: The Prado Sediment Management Demonstration Project Excavation and Dredging consists of conventional excavation and dredging of a pool in the Prado Wetlands to study the effectiveness of dredging for future sediment removal. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: Provide a final written plan and any necessary drawings detailing the Contractor’s proposed excavation and dredging operations; construct and maintain an access road, including installation of approximately five culvert crossings; excavate approximately 40,000 cubic yards of sediment from within a planned dredging area to a depth of approximately 4 feet over the 8 acre site; construct a slurry drying/decanting basin and storage area on US Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) property; dredge for a duration of four months and remove approximately 80,000 cubic yards of sediment and transport as slurry through a temporary above ground pipeline to the storage site; enlist the services of a Surveyor licensed by the State of California to complete an as-built aerial survey; final cleanup and demobilization; and at the option of OCWD, remove and dispose of approximately 120,000 cubic yards of sediment from the storage site. The Contractor will be responsible for determining the proper equipment (dredge, pumps, pipeline size, return pipeline, etc) to complete the work.
Bids are due at the District Office before 2 p.m. on May 28, 2020. Bids delivered in person must be dropped off at the OCWD guard shack located at 18700 Ward Street, Fountain Valley prior to the deadline.
