Destruction of monitoring well SA-5 and construction of replacement monitoring well cluster OCWD-M58, contract number TAL-2020-4

The work includes but is not limited to the following:

Destruction of nested monitoring well SA-5 including airlift fill removal, pressure grouting and cement capping per Orange County Healthcare Agency requirements, and sidewalk replacement per city of Huntington Beach standards. SA-5 is located in the west sidewalk of Brookhurst Street approximately 300 feet south of the intersection of Yorktown and Brookhurst in Huntington Beach, Calif. The well was constructed in 1963 with two galvanized steel well casings installed in a single borehole.

Construction of a monitoring well cluster consisting of three separate wells spaced approximately 10 feet apart. The two deep wells will be drilled using the direct mud rotary drilling method and the shallow well will be drilled using the hollow stem auger drilling method. The proposed well site is located on Oriole Avenue in the city of Fountain Valley, Calif.

Bids are due at the District Office before 2 p.m. on July 28, 2020. Bids delivered in person must be dropped off at the OCWD guard shack located at 18700 Ward Street, Fountain Valley prior to the deadline.
