OCWD Donates Festival T-Shirts
When the Children’s Water Education Festival was cancelled in the latter part of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Orange County Water District found itself with 8,500 unused Festival t-shirts.
Those shirts would normally be given to attending students and volunteers. Instead, the District worked with the Power of One Foundation (POOF) to donate all of the t-shirts to a worthy cause.
POOF has been distributing the t-shirts to Orange County families and individuals in need. The organization provides community food assistance, homeless support, international aid and a yearly Christmas toy drive.
POOF has recently chosen to stay on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis to provide direct assistance to thousands of affected members of the community weekly to ensure families and children are not going without during this sobering time.
The foundation is in great need of financial donations to obtain supplies such as boxes, bags, packing tape and tape guns, PPE, tables, chairs, canopies and thermal blankets, as well as pallet jacks, a tow truck (for forklift transportation), forklifts, transportation trucks and refrigerated trucks to be able to distribute Emergency Food Assistance Kits and Emergency Diaper Assistance Kits more safely and quickly at its drive-through distributions in Orange County, Calif. POOF also welcomes in-kind donations that align with its needs. Please email info@powerofonefoundation.org with any donation questions.
