Become a Children’s Water Education Festival Presenter
The Children’s Water Education Festival (Festival) is the largest event of its kind in the nation—an environmental education field trip serving up to 7,500 elementary school students annually. The Festival is provided at no cost to Orange County schools—public, private and home schools.
Your company or organization is invited to submit an application to participate as a presenter in the 2019 Festival, held March 27-28, at the University of California, Irvine. The Festival offers a unique opportunity to educate third, fourth and fifth grade students, about water and the environment, through hands-on educational activities and videos. Topics include water reuse, watersheds, wildlife and natural habitats, engineering, biology, chemistry, sea and space exploration, and recycling.
The award-winning event is recognized nationally as the largest of its kind. Its continued success is due to involvement of organizations like yours.
The event will celebrate its 23rd anniversary and takes place over two days to accommodate the large number of students. Since inception, more than 129,000 students have experienced the Festival and all it has to offer.
All presentations must support Next Generation Science Standards. The Festival has a legacy of hosting educational presenters who are top-notch experts from esteemed organizations that include National Geographic, NASA/JPL, the California Department of Water Resources, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
No other program brings together the number of organizations and environmental learning opportunities in one location and impacts such a large number of students at one time as does the Orange County Water District Children’s Water Education Festival.
