Children's Water Education Festival

The Children’s Water Education Festival is for Orange County third, fourth and fifth grade students. The Festival attracts more than 6,000 students annually and is recognized locally and nationally as the largest event of its kind. The Festival teaches youth that they can make a difference in protecting our water resources for today, tomorrow and future generations.

Water Conservation

Increasing demand for water in Orange County, accelerated by such factors as our burgeoning population, places a great deal of pressure on finding cost-effective, timely solutions for providing for our ever-growing thirst.

OCWD has a legacy as a leader of water conservation efforts in Orange County, and uses its knowledge and experience with its own programs to help others.

The Hotel/Motel Water Conservation Program – designed specifically for hotels and motels – offers free laminated towel rack hangers or bed cards which ask hotel and motel guests who spend more than one night to consider using their towels and bed linens more than once. In addition, hotels and motels who sign up for the program also receive a free bilingual instructional video for use in training their housekeeping staff. This program allows the guests and the hotel or motel to be environmentally aware while reducing water use, lowering costs, saving energy and reducing pollution.
