| NEWS | Press Release Library| 2001 Press Releases: For Immediate Release: May 1, 2001 ORANGE COUNTY WATER 101 GOES ON THE ROAD Water Education Class for Community Groups FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. -- A water education class, Orange County Water 101, has been developed for presentation at community group meetings. Orange County Water District (OCWD) has been hosting a monthly class on the basics of water in Orange County at the District office in Fountain Valley. Now, the course has been shortened and made mobile so that it can be given at a breakfast, luncheon and other meeting of local groups interested in how Orange County gets its water. ### OCWD is a special agency created by the California Legislature to maintain and manage the groundwater basin under the northern and central areas of Orange County. The OCWD supplies 75 percent of the water needs to more than 2.7 million residents and businesses in Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, most of Irvine, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin, Villa Park, Westminster and Yorba Linda. |
