ORANGE COUNTY WATER 101 GOES ON THE ROAD
Water Education Class for Community Groups

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. -- A water education class, Orange County Water 101, has been developed for presentation at community group meetings. Orange County Water District (OCWD) has been hosting a monthly class on the basics of water in Orange County at the District office in Fountain Valley. Now, the course has been shortened and made mobile so that it can be given at a breakfast, luncheon and other meeting of local groups interested in how Orange County gets its water.

The course discusses water from a global, statewide, regional and Orange County level. The goal of the course is to raise the level of understanding of Orange County citizens with regard to water issues, and hopefully encourage more active voting on water issues. More than 300 new pieces of State and Federal legislation are sponsored each year that could impact Orange County’s water future. The 30-minute course explains where we get our water and what is being done to ensure we have water in the future. Course graduates can get on a mailing list that will keep them informed of water stories in the media and water issues that affect them.

"This course has been very well received when presented at OCWD, so much so that we decided to take it on the road," said William R. Mills, General Manager of Orange County Water District.

To book a course presentation for your group, visit the Water 101 homepage, or just call the Orange County Water District at (714) 378-3217.
