Children's Water Education Festival
The Children’s Water Education Festival is for Orange County third, fourth and fifth grade students. The Festival attracts more than 6,000 students annually and is recognized locally and nationally as the largest event of its kind. OC Water Hero Program
The O.C. Water Hero Program was begun by OCWD in partnership with the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) to encourage the youngest water users to curtail water usage. The program teaches children in K-6th grade simple ways to conserve 20 gallons of water per person, per day. To become O.C. Water Heroes, kids pledge to save water by doing things such as turning off the water when brushing their teeth and taking five-minute or less showers.

After pledging to save, each hero receives a kit filled with activity sheets, water saving tips and prizes. For more information, to learn how kids can become a. O.C. Water Superhero, or to sign up, go to www.ocwaterhero.com or call (714) 378-3200.

Orange County Water 101
O.C. Water 101 is an informative, no-cost water education class about the basics of water in Orange County presented by OCWD at our Fountain Valley headquarters. The course also addresses how the water community will meet the demands of a growing Orange County.

Orange County Water Camp
OC Water Camp is two, one-week interactive water education programs held in June and July for students who are interested in science, engineering or the environment. Water Camp is open to Orange County students entering 7th, 8th and 9th grades in the fall. Space is limited and students must complete an application. Students are selected to attend Water Camp based on an evaluation of a two-paragraph essay describing their interest in the water sciences, and explaining why they should be selected to attend Water Camp. Application procedures are available at www.ocwatercamp.org, or by calling (714) 593-5029. There is no fee to attend and selected students may only attend one session.

OCWD Hotel/Motel Water Efficiency Program
The Hotel/Motel Water Efficiency Program is designed specifically for hotels and motels by offering free laminated towel rack hangers or bed cards that ask hotel and motel guests who spend more than one night to consider using their towels and bed linens more than once. In addition, hotels and motels who sign up for the program also receive a free bilingual instructional video for use in training their housekeeping staff. This program allows the guests and the hotel or motel to be environmentally aware while reducing water use, lowering costs, saving energy and reducing pollution.
