13th Annual Children's Water Education Festival

Fourth and fifth grade teachers and students throughout Orange County are invited to attend the 13th Annual Children’s Water Education Festival on April 28 and 29, 2009, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace Foundation in Yorba Linda. Year after year teachers return to the Festival with their classes to engage in a unique educational opportunity, which is entirely free of cost.

The Festival is presented by the Orange County Water District, Disneyland Resort, National Water Research Institute, Municipal Water District of Orange County and the Orange County Water District Groundwater Guardian Team.

The Children’s Water Education Festival attracts more than 6,000 students annually and is recognized nationally as the largest event of its kind. The mission of the Festival is to educate students about water-related and conservation issues that correspond to California Science Standards. The Festival teaches youth that they can make a difference in protecting our water resources for today, tomorrow and future generations.

 Be a Presenter!

Do you like working with children? Do you want to help them learn about our environment and our natural resources? If so, being a presenter is for you. What could be more rewarding then helping children understand the world we live in and inspiring them to protect its resources!

The Orange County Water District Ground Water Guardian Team and Disneyland Resort will coordinate the Festival, but we need your help to ensure its success. Through hands-on fun-filled activities students will learn about the world in which we live and what they can do in their homes, communities and schools to protect our natural resources and our world.

If you are interested in presenting at the Festival please read the information below and complete the registration form. For more information, contact Gina Pineda at (714) 378-3323 or e-mail gpineda@ocwd.com
