13th Annual Children's Water Education Festival
Fourth and fifth grade teachers and students throughout Orange County are invited to attend the 13th Annual Children’s Water Education Festival on April 28 and 29, 2009, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace Foundation in Yorba Linda. Year after year teachers return to the Festival with their classes to engage in a unique educational opportunity, which is entirely free of cost.
The Festival is presented by the Orange County Water District, Disneyland Resort, National Water Research Institute, Municipal Water District of Orange County and the Orange County Water District Groundwater Guardian Team.
The Children’s Water Education Festival attracts more than 6,000 students annually and is recognized nationally as the largest event of its kind. The mission of the Festival is to educate students about water-related and conservation issues that correspond to California Science Standards. The Festival teaches youth that they can make a difference in protecting our water resources for today, tomorrow and future generations.
